Catellani & Smith Stchu-Moon 09 Floor Lamp

When blacksmith and designer Catellani presented his lighting collection at the Frankfurt Fair for the first time in 1989, his beautifully designed light creations attracted a lot of attention. In the same year Catellani founded his company near Bergamo, Italy. All of Catellani & Smith’s products are made of unusual materials, and completely handcrafted. This holds true to this day. Each and every lamp is a completely unique model and thus highly coveted.

The company Catellani & Smith represents magical light artworks - gold leaf, silver leaf, filigree woven lamps, lamps with unusual designs and lighting effects - Catellani is a magician of light and employs innovative energy-saving technology for all its lamps. Particularly impressive light design is showcased in the Macchina Della Luce, which is available in four different versions. Four metallic discs in decreasing size are suspended one below the other, bearing bulbs on their surface and illuminating the disc above. The indirect lighting fills the room with comfortably warm light. The top disc of the Macchina Della Luce is irregularly covered with gold leaf or silver leaf: a beautifully elegant effect.

The Catellani Sweet Light creates quite different lighting effects. The luminaire body is made of aluminium, brass or silver wire mesh, which is illuminated by a halogen lamp from the inside and creates magical light effects. The Catellani Sweet Light is available as a pendant or table lamp. The Catellani & Smith Disco Lamp, on the other hand, offers clear, geometric shapes. It is available in two variants - with a golden ceiling disc or as a silvery version. Accordingly, the quality of light created by these lamps is different. The golden Catellani & Smith Disco bathes the room in warm light, while the silver version creates clear and cool light.

The small Catellani & Smith Atman Table Lamp, yet another impressive light artwork by Catellani & Smith, generates a spectacularly beautiful play of light and is available with either warm or cool light colour. The luminaire family Turciu by Catellani & Smith diffuses its light from many arms and light bulbs. These ceiling lamps made of brass, aluminium, nickel or white metal create a magical atmosphere with their unique design and lighting effects, increasing the attractiveness of any room in their own way. The arms of the Turciu lamps may be arranged as desired and create a warm or cool effect depending on their material composition.
